"I won't quit" - fiesty Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe says he won't resign over missing inflation surge and his 2024 "low rates" signal

Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe had rejected calls that he resign for missing signs of runaway inflation and misjudging the economy that led to his signal that interest rates would stay near zero until 2024.

Speaking at the annual Anika luncheon in Sydney, Mr Lowe said interest rate rises are set to continue and will only slow once inflation looks like easing from recent highs.
