Fair Work Ombudsman targets Commonwealth Bank for alleged $16.4m worker underpayments

The Fair Work Ombudsman is taking the Commonwealth Bank to court for allegedly failing to pay $16.4 million to 7,425 workers.

Ombudsman Sandra Parker tells me Australia's biggest bank breached enterprise agreements with staff and could face maximum penalties of $666,000 per serious breach.

While Ms Parker doesn't see systemic problems beyond CBA, she says there's often a lot of complacency and wilful ignorance.
