Double-dip recession fears hang on June GDP result; Gerry Harvey still won't explain sudden decision to pay back JobKeeper

Official economic growth numbers for the second quarter of this year are expected to come in sharply softer after lockdowns kept workers at home and smashed confidence.

Economists are divided on whether the result will herald a double-dip recess.

But confirmation of a technical recession won't be a newsflash to millions of locked down Australians doing it tough.

Meanwhile, Harvey Norman chairman Gerry Harvey is refusing to explain the retailer's sudden decision to repayment $6 million in JobKeeper wage support payments received during the pandemic.
