Tomago aluminium smelter aims for 100pc green energy switch by 2029 - Monday Finance with Peter Ryan

Last week's dire warnings on climate change and an alarming "code red for humanity" is ramping up pressure on the federal government and big carbon emitters to take rapid action before it's too late.

But rather than waiting for guidance or regulation from Canberra, parts of corporate Australia say they're already moving to eventually dump dirty fossil fuels in a switch to renewables well before 2030.

The Tomago aluminium smelter north of Sydney is aiming to switch to almost 100 percent renewables by 2029 after its contract with AGL's Bayswater power station ends.
