Viva Las Vegas - big incentives see insurance sales staff target vulnerable indigenous communities

Listen to today's installment where Let's Insure chief executive Russell Howden is grilled by senior counsel assisting Rowena Orr QC

Incentives including a Las Vegas gambling trip, Vespa motorscooters and ocean cruises were responsible for a spike in unethical funeral insurance sales to indigenous communities, the financial services Royal Commission has heard.

Let's Insure chief executive Russell Howden conceded that the rush to win awards under the program was a significant factor in ramped-up sales to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customers.

ABC's Peter Ryan says Let's Insure sacked two staff who abused the incentives program by targetting postcards with the biggest indigenous populations.
