Reserve Bank slows the pace of interest rate rises but signals more to come

Interest rates have increased again today, as the Reserve Bank tries to stamp out inflation.

The RBA has raised the official rate by a quarter-of-a-percentage point to 2.6 percent.

The last time we had rapid rate rises in a short period of time was 1994 .. when the cash rate jumped by 2.75 percentage points in a matter of months.
