Qantas boss Alan Joyce resists calls to resign after airline chaos and $1.86 billion underlying loss


Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce has pushed back against union calls for him to resign following consumer anger over months of flight cancellations, delays and lost luggage, and staff discontent over outsourcing of jobs. 

Mr Joyce said he was committed to the despite the reputational damage and delivering a pre-tax loss of $1.86 billion.
