Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe hits prime time - warns inflation will hit 7 percent by year's end

Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe made a rare appearance on prime time television to warn that inflation could hit seven percent by the end of the year.

It was the first television interview by a Reserve Bank governor since 2010 when Mr Lowe's predecessor Glenn Stevens made a surprise appearance in Channel 7's "Sunrise" program.
