Hot inflation to test Reserve Bank independence for May rate rise. I speak with Betashares economist David Bassanese

Evidence of surging inflation is likely to prompt the Reserve Bank to raise interest rates next week in the midst of the federal election campaign. 

Betashares chief economist David Bassanese says any reluctance by the RBA will damage its independence from government and politics. 

Also Wall Street plunges on concerns that the US Federal Reserve is on the brink of aggressive interest rate rises and concerns that lockdowns in China will slow global econmic growth.
