Qantas posts another massive loss on Omicron/Delta damage as Ukraine conflict complicates recovery

Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce says the airline is well prepared to withstand the fallout from the crisis in Ukraine, including surging oil prices.

But unveiling a $456 million half year loss - much of it from the Omicron and Delta impact - Mr Joyce says Australia could become a refuge for tourists edgy about travelling to Europe.

Alan Joyce also called on West Australian premier Mark McGowen to stick to plans to re-open the WA border, saying the delayed opening cost Qantas 60 million dollars.
