Apple chief in public backlash as pay deal rockets to US$99 million

Global tech giant Apple is facing a shareholding revolt over a massive pay rise given to its high profile chief executive Tim Cook. 

Shareholder advisory group ISS says there are significant concerns about the design and magnitude of Mr Cook's pay deal which has rocketed to US$99 million (A$137m). 

ABC's Peter Ryan says average Americans are angered given rising inflation and hard economic times.
