Unpaid "work-from-home" overtime surges during pandemic. Wages theft of workers seeking flexibility?

Australians working at home during the pandemic clocked up an average six hours unpaid overtime and are owed wages worth eight weeks a year, according to the Australia Institute.

Report author Dan Nahum says the unpaid work amounts to wages theft in some circumstances as workers "do what it takes" to get the job done in tightening labour market. 

AI Group chief executive Innes Willox says employers will need to provide greater flexibility when workers come back to the office.
